Calcium™ HDR Propane Torch Ice Melt
This clip shows the same Calcium™ HDR video data with two different mappings of the scene temperature range. The left panel shows the full scene temperature range, while the right panel shows a narrower, low-temperature range. In every frame of the right panel, the system is simultaneously imaging the fine details of the propane torch flame at around 1250 °C along with the meltwater's minutely elevated temperature above the ice at 0 °C.
Calcium™ HDR Plane Landing
As with the propane torch above, this clip shows the same Calcium™ HDR video data, mapped to the full scene temperature range (left) and a tailored low-temperature range (right). In this collection, the system is able to simultaneously image the extremely hot exhaust manifold of the jet engines as well as the fine details of the much cooler fuselage and sky. Note also the infrared reflection of the engines off of the ground, and the elevated temperature of the airplane's tires after landing.
